Dear BYHA Parents:
We hope you are all enjoying your summer. The BYHA Board has had some tough decisions to make regarding the financial aspects of our association. Basically, we are running out of funds to keep going the way we are. There was money from the tornado, but that money has been depleted over the years, and we are now down to one $20,000 CD. Mortgage alone is over $4,000 a month and that doesn’t include any of the utilities or upkeep costs. This was discussed at the Annual Association Meeting.
The bottom line is that in order to survive as an association, we have to increase registration costs significantly. If we don’t the association will not exist in a couple of years. The registration costs will be as follows: LTS-free; Mites-$50; Squirts-$225; and Peewees & Bantams-$300. Registration costs will include skate sharpening and equipment rental. Fundraisers will also be mandatory this year. Each family will either have to buy-out or sell the minimum amount of product. Again, this is critical in order for our association to survive.
We will be having our next Board meeting on July 18 and again on August 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Lodge Center Arena.
