Mitch moved to Webster, WI in his junior high years and played hockey for the Blizzard until he graduated. Shortly after graduation he was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the midline down. Mitch passed away unexpectedly in March of 2017 at the age of 46.

Timothy McDonald had a passion for hockey and for service. As a young hockey player, he helped lead his team to two state tournaments. He went on to play for Gustavus Adolphus College. His passion for helping others directed him to emergency medicine and the US Army as a Blackhawk pilot. After serving two combat tours in Iraq, he dedicated his life to another area of service as a medevac pilot. Once Tim and his family found their way to the north woods of Wisconsin, Tim was able to share his love for hockey as the Blizzard High School Hockey coach for the 2018-2019 season. He also supported his children's growth in hockey through the youth hockey association. Although he was with our association for such a short time, he will be greatly missed. Thank you for sharing your love of hockey with our boys for a fun season of hockey!
